Sometimes, stepping into a new church can feel a bit overwhelming. You might see groups of friends chatting and wonder, “Will I ever find my people here?” It’s a common feeling, and one that many of us have experienced.
Here at Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, Zimmerman, we want you to know: You are not alone. Our purpose is to be “The Voice of Hope” not just from the pulpit, but in every handshake, every small group, and every act of service.
The truth is, the church isn’t just a building; it’s a living, breathing community. It’s a place where we are all meant to connect, support, and grow with one another. The Apostle Paul reminds us of this in Romans 12:5: “so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” We believe that includes you!
So, how can you start to feel more at home and truly hear the Voice of Hope in our community?
1. Go Beyond the Service: While our Sunday worship is powerful, community often thrives in smaller settings. Consider joining a small group, Bible study, or volunteer team. This is a direct application of the principle found in Hebrews 10:24-25: “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together… but encouraging one another…”
2. Serve with Others: One of the quickest ways to build genuine connections is by serving alongside others. When you help with the children’s ministry, set up for an event, or greet people at the door, you become an active part of the Body. 1 Peter 4:10 encourages us: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Serving is how your voice contributes to the chorus of Hope!
3. Be Open and Welcoming: Don’t wait for others to come to you. Take the initiative to introduce yourself to someone new each week. A simple “Hi, I’m [Your Name]” can be the start of a wonderful friendship. Remember, you might be the person who helps someone else feel at home, fulfilling the command in Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Finding your place in the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, Zimmerman community is a journey, not a destination. It’s about being intentional, stepping out of your comfort zone, and trusting that God has a spot just for you in this family. We are so glad The Voice of Hope led you here!
