In a world filled with constant noise, we believe the message of the Gospel should be a clear and powerful one. Here at Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, Zimmerman, our mission is simple: to be “The Voice of Hope.”
This isn’t just a slogan; it’s our purpose. We believe hope is meant to be shared, lived out, and extended to every person in our community, whether they attend our services or not. We are called to be a light in the darkness, a voice that speaks peace and restoration into the lives of those around us.
The Bible consistently calls us to this outward focus. 1 Peter 3:15 says, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” We want to be a church that is a living testament to that hope.
Jeremiah 33:3
“Call to me and I will answer you, and tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish”
So, how do we live out this calling as a community and as individuals?
1. Being a Neighbor of Hope: Hope isn’t just a feeling; it’s an action. It’s about showing up for our neighbors and our community. This could be as simple as helping a family in need, volunteering at a local charity, or just offering a listening ear to someone who is hurting. As Galatians 6:10 says, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
2. Speaking Words of Hope: Words have power. In a culture that often focuses on negativity, we can choose to be people who speak words of encouragement, grace, and truth. This is a direct reflection of the hope we have in Jesus. Ephesians 4:29 reminds us, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
3. Praying for Our City with Hope: We lift up our community in prayer, not just for our own benefit, but for its well-being. We believe in the promise of Jeremiah 29:7, “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you… Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” We pray for our schools, our businesses, and our leaders, knowing that God is at work in every corner of Zimmerman.
As “The Voice of Hope,” we believe that our purpose extends far beyond our Sunday gatherings. We are called to be a beacon of light and a source of genuine care in the world around us. We invite you to join us in this mission.
