WALKING IN DIVINE FAVOR; LIVING IN FRUITFULNESS
- Sermon By: Bishop Benson K. Ngwiri (PhD.)
- Categories: The Year of Divine Favor
Introducing the theme for the year 2026, emphasizing God’s supernatural help and blessing in all aspects of life.
- Gratitude for the past year (46:34): We should thank God for His faithfulness, victories, and protection in 2025, and for the opportunity to enter 2026.
- Theme for 2026 (47:31): The central theme for the year is “Walking in Divine Favor, Living in Fruitfulness,” based on Psalms 5:12, which states that God surrounds the righteous with favor as with a shield.
- Divine Favor Defined (56:45): Divine favor is God opening unexpected doors, leading to provision, promotion, and walking in God’s purpose. It transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.
- Biblical Examples of Favor (57:44):
- Joseph (58:11): Elevated from slavery and imprisonment to second-in-command in Egypt.
- Queen Esther (58:55): Exalted from an orphan to a queen.
- Mary, mother of Jesus (59:18): An ordinary girl chosen to be the mother of the Savior.
- Jesus Christ (59:55): Grew in favor with both God and people (Luke 2:52)
- Characteristics of Divine Favor (1:14:55):
- Undeserved (1:15:09): It’s God’s kindness, not earned by performance.
- God-given (1:17:43): Comes solely from God, not man, though God propels people to show it.
- Opens doors (1:20:34): Creates unexpected opportunities and makes people say “yes” unexpectedly.
- Brings acceleration (1:24:06): Shortens journeys and speeds up processes (e.g., Joseph’s quick ascent).
- Attracts divine protection (1:25:47): Acts as a shield, preserving from danger (e.g., Daniel in the lion’s den, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace).
- Gives voice and acceptance (1:28:02): Makes your ideas heard, presence welcomed, and name recommended.
- Produces visible fruit (1:30:49): True favor shows tangible results, progression, and impact.
- Works in all areas of life (1:32:45): It is holistic, touching spiritual walk, relationships (social, family, marriage), and finances.
